Accentuate The Positive

What are you paying more attention to these days? What seems to be on a continuous loop on the record player of your mind? I’m amazed at how much time I can spend thinking about things that make me upset the negative that surrounds us day in and day out we got politicians and public figures doing STUPID stuff. We got coaches that's supposed to be setting examples for our young people destroying there lives not saying this is something new but seems to have gotten more noticeable within the past few years. We got religious leaders destroying people instead of building them up. What should be thoughts of happiness sometimes end up replaying over and over again until my emotions get all mixed in and, before I know it, I’m feeling blue because of how society's perception on things has become so twisted.Does this happen to you? It’s not so much that your thoughts are bad. Thoughts are thoughts. They come and go. Unfortunately, some of those thoughts like to hang around and the more attention we focus on them, the bigger they grow.We need to shift our perspective. For example, instead of paying attention to the one driver who cut you off, dwell on the otherwise safe drive you’re having. Think about how fortunate you are to have a car and be able to commute. Enjoy the scenery. In other words, take your eyes off of the negative and refocus your attention on the positive. You’ll find your outlook on life brightening and suddenly the things that bug you will seem smaller and smaller. This is why I encourage so many to get to the outdoors it is truly a reminder of how blessed we are. Do you remember this old song? You’ve got to accentuate the positive Eliminate the negative And latch on to the affirmativeDon’t mess with Mister In-Between Try it! See what happens when you think on the good things. try looking in the mirror sometimes and tell yourself " TODAY I WILL BE A POSITIVE EXAMPLE FOR MYSELF TO BE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON SOMEONE ELSE". Change starts with us

The power of Discipline and Balance

Why are some people around us more successful than others? Why do some people make more money, live happier lives and accomplish much more in the same number of years than the great majority or I do? I started out in life with a few rough edges. I did not graduate from high school but got my GED. I worked at menial jobs because i was told that was all I could do with my education.Limited skills and a limited future. And then I began asking, “Why are some people more successful than others?” This question changed my life.Over the years, I have read thousands of books and articles on the subjects of success and achievement as well as watch others trying to figure out what they were doing. It seemed that the reasons for these accomplishments have been discussed and written about for more than two hundred years, in every conceivable way. One quality that most philosophers, teachers and experts agree on is the importance of self-discipline. As Al Tomsik summarized it years ago, “Success is tons of discipline.” Whether your in the woods hunting or going through everyday life there has to be 2 things DISCIPLINE AND BALANCE without these two key ingredients life becomes harder than needed.
